Although its quite normal to get down after messing up a bit, don't forget that you are usually able to get better reactions. And well... I wouldn't think that you messed up your job completely... I mean.. as long as at least one of the kids ends up like the three scouts you said its a success. A small one, but a success. So in the end don't put yourself down so much, even if you feel you messed up completly. You didn't.
